U2

U2 was born in 1978 when all the current members were students at Dublin's Mount Temple School. The teenage U2 made a local name for themselves in their native Dublin and released a three track EP on CBS called U23 in 1979. Their first three records (BOY, OCTOBER and WAR) were produced by Steve Lillywhite and won the band loyal fans throughout Europe and the US. In 1984 working with Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno they created THE UNFORGETTABLE FIRE. On the strength of Pride (In The Name Of Love) their biggest single to date, they continued to tour into 1985 In March of 1987 THE JOSHUA TREE was unleashed eventually selling 15 million copies worldwide and supporting an eight month 100 city tour. Subsequent years produced RATTLE AND HUM (1988), ACHTUNG BABY (1990), 1992's Zoo TV Tour and ZOOROPA (1993).

U2 have recorded with Bob Dylan, Keith Richard, Johnny Cash, BB King and Pavarotti. No one has ever left or joined the original band. They remain in Dublin Ireland where they grew up.
